Jennifer Kiser Named UVMC Cameos of Caring Award Nurse

Jennifer Kiser of Piqua was named Upper Valley Medical Center’s 2012 Cameos of Caring Award recipient at the annual Spring Nursing Forum held May 8.
Kiser, a registered nurse working on the hospital’s 2 West floor, also received a Nursing Excellence award. She has been employed by UVMC for more than seven years.
“Jen is concerned for how our practice impacts our patients and strives to make a difference through her leadership role. She is truly making a positive impact on the profession of nursing at UVMC,” Kiser’s peers wrote in nominating her for the award.
Also recognized during the forum were Mallory Kothman of Dayton, named New Hire of the Year; Melissa Humphreys of Piqua, named Preceptor of the Year; Cindy Burke of Anna, CNS/Clinical/Educator; Julie Trotter of Troy, Nurse in Leadership Role; and D’Anna Stekli of Troy, Infection Control and Prevention Coordinator, Partner in Practice.
This year’s recipients of the UVMC Nursing Excellence Awards were the following registered nurses: Laura Bell of Sidney; Elaine Bohman of Versailles; Lisa Brown of Troy; Ana Brush of Troy; Dawn Covault of Piqua; Kandi Diamond of Arcanum; Tennile Hahn of Troy; Robin Holcomb of Tipp City; Melissa Humphreys; Jennifer Kiser; Tracy Knox of Troy; Danielle Larger of Houston; Amy Laughman of Pleasant Hill; Sharon McGlinch of Versailles; Tami McMillan of Dayton; Theresa Rowley of Troy; Linda Rutschilling of Yorkshire; Jackie Smallenbarger of Troy; Alyssa Vagedes of St. Henry; and Liana Webster of Piqua.
Nursing Staff Partners awards were presented to: Dee Meyer of Troy and Arika Carey of Troy, LPNs; Chris Lyon of St. Paris, Jodi Hughes of Troy and Katherine Wright of Arcanum, Patient Care Technicians; and Barbara Westfall of Greenville and Karla Kuhn of Piqua, Health Unit Coordinators.
Recipients of the Physician Recognition Awards were Dr. Fayez Abboud, gastroenterologist; Dr. Brian Gootzeit, gastroenterologist; and Dr. Chris Grove, general surgeon.
