Stephanie Rank named UVMC Cameos of Caring Nurse

Stephanie Rank, RN, was recognized as UVMC’s Cameos of Caring Award recipient for 2014 during the Premier Nurse Recognition Celebration at the Schuster Center on May 7. Rank is a RN working on the Progressive Care Unit.

“She does her job with a smile on every day,” Rank’s peers wrote. “She always uses the AIDET with her patients … I love to work with her. The day goes by very smoothly or she assists in any way possible.”

Recipients of the Nurse Recognition Awards included: Clinical Practice, Lisa Brown, ED; Heather Pfenning, 2nd Floor West Med-Surg; Linda Strawser, Women’s and Children’s; and Sara Schulze, 2ndFloor Central Med Surg; A Nurse Recognition Award in Education was presented to Laura Stueve, 2nd Floor Central, Med Surg.

Also recognized were Amanda Siebert, Progressive Care, as Rookie of the Year, and Mike Barhorst, Pharmacist, Partner in Practice.

A first system Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Janie Cullis, RN, Cardiac Catherization Lab. Nominators said Cullis was instrumental in many innovations in the cath lab, among her other contributions. “She has supported the vision of this facility and has been supportive to patients in this community for many years,” a nominator wrote. Cullis has been at UVMC since 1974.

“These UVMC nurses exemplify a commitment to the delivery of compassionate and quality nursing care. We are so proud of each of them,” said Terry Fry, Chief Nursing Officer.
