Education and Support
Patients become an active part of a team when choosing Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) for their cancer care. In addition to the compassionate care of our physicians and the technology we offer, there is a broad network of easily accessible support and educational resources available.
We provide patients with a patient navigator for access to financial and transportation information. Patient navigators also assist patients with prescription programs.
Healthy nutrition is vital to recovery from cancer. Within the Premier Health cancer services, licensed clinical dietitians help patients with individualized meal planning and solutions to loss of appetite, differences in taste and nausea that may occur during treatment. Resources for home-delivered meals based on the dietitian’s recommendations are also available.
Oncology Social Services
Oncology services at Premier Health include the support of licensed social workers who assist patients and their loved ones through recommendations for counseling, financial and legal assistance.
Rehabilitation and Therapy
Cancer survivors face many challenges both during and after treatment. Rehabilitation can help patients maintain physical well-being and functional independence, as well as reduce pain and discomfort during cancer treatments. Learn more.
Health and well-being are major concerns to us all. Part of UVMC's role as the leading health care provider in the Miami County area is to provide accurate, up-to-date, health-related information to the community.
Presentations are provided to area civic, service and social groups, professional organizations, schools, churches and industries. Speakers on a wide variety of medical and health care topics are available. We can provide a list of suggested topics or work with your group to tailor a program specific to your needs. It is best to contact us at least a month prior to your event, even sooner if possible, to allow adequate planning time.
