Bone Density/DEXA
The bone density/DEXA scan is a commonly used outpatient test to diagnose osteoporosis, or weakened bones.

CT
Computed Tomography (CT) shows several types of tissue and internal organs, such as lungs, bones, soft tissue, and blood vessels. Abdomen/pelvis, brain, cardiac, chest, and spine are some of the most common CT scans.

MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) produces detailed pictures of internal organs to evaluate body structure, internal organs, and tissue. We offer high-powered 1.5T and 3T MRI magnets for vivid imaging and fast scan speeds. MRI can be helpful when other imaging methods don’t provide adequate detail.

RAPID
RAPID is a neuroimaging software that uses artificial intelligence technology allowing physicians to quickly visualize blood flow in the brain. This new technology is used with CT and MRI to rapidly triage stroke patients enabling us to provide the most advanced care in the treatment of stroke. Recently adopted by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association, RAPID is a new class of automated brain imaging.
Nuclear Medicine
A non-invasive test, a
nuclear medicine study aids physicians in viewing, monitoring, or diagnosing tumors; blood flow and function of the heart; respiratory and blood flow problems in the lungs; and function of such
organs as the kidney, bowel, and gallbladder. These studies involve the injection of a small amount of radioisotope that travels to different areas within your body and can be detected by special cameras.
PET/CT
Positron emission tomography (PET)/CT imaging is a type of nuclear medicine test most commonly used in oncology to detect cancer, the extent/location of the disease, or to assess the effectiveness of a treatment. It’s also useful in diagnosing heart disease and brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, stroke, brain tumors, and seizures. PET/CT imaging also is helpful in assessing abnormal glucose metabolism in the body, which can be seen before physical change can be detected on a CT or MRI.
SPECT-CT
Highly specialized SPECT-CT (single-photon emission computed tomography)combines the technique used in nuclear medicine and the technology of CT to provide more precise information about blood flow to tissues, chemical reactions (metabolism) in the body, and how different parts of the body function.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging is a valuable tool that assists your physician in determining further treatment. It’s also used to guide procedures such as needle biopsies of breast tissue.

X-ray
X-ray is a familiar medical test often associated with diagnosing broken bones and other health-related issues. Some X-ray procedures can be done on a walk-in basis. An additional use
of X-ray is with a contrast agent, or dye, to obtain clear pictures of such areas as the colon and large intestine (
barium enema), urinary tract (
intravenous pyelogram), small bowel, and upper gastrointestinal tract (barium swallow).
Our Diagnostics and Medical Imaging Team
- Medical Radiologists. Radiologists are physicians who specialize in interpreting imaging test results and diagnosing diseases and injuries. They regularly collaborate with surgeons and other medical professionals to discuss imaging test results for treatment planning.
- Interventional Radiologists. Interventional radiologists specialize in minimally-invasive, targeted treatments, using advanced medical imaging technology to offer non-invasive options to surgery.
- Radiologic Technologists. These specially-trained and licensed medical professionals perform medical imaging procedures. They’re responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that quality diagnostic images are produced.
- Medical Imaging Nurses. Medical imaging nurses are specially trained to provide care to patients undergoing medical imaging procedures.
