Melissa and Brad Bernard chose Upper Valley Medical Center to have their first child. Being residents of Piqua, it was the most convenient. They also had heard of friends who had a great experience at UVMC, so the choice was easy and logical. Their first-born had some complications and they are very glad they chose UVMC because of the Level II nursery. “He spent nine days there. We’re glad we chose UVMC.”
So, when Melissa learned she was expecting the couple’s second child, they knew they wanted to return to Upper Valley Medical Center. Little Lindsay decided to arrive six weeks early. Once again, the Bernard’s were happy they chose UVMC because of the confidence they had in the staff and technology at a hospital close to home.
Melissa had a more difficult labor with her daughter and ended up having a C-section. They were kept abreast of everything going on by the staff who managed to calm them and educate them at the same time. “The nurses at Upper Valley are beyond the call of duty. I’d recommend Upper Valley to anyone,” said Brad.
Both birthing experiences were different but each required their newborn to spend some time in the Level II nursery at Upper Valley Medical Center. The Bernard’s are happy they chose the hospital close to home.
