The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider of today is a highly trained medical professional that manages emergency medical incidents by providing optimal patient care.
Using knowledge and skills, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) employs available equipment and technology toward stabilizing, treating, and transporting patients who require further medical evaluation. A 40-hour program designed to fit the needs of those who are often “first-on-the-scene,” such as police officers and industrial health personnel. The emphasis is on activating the EMS system and providing immediate care for life-threatening emergencies, while awaiting ambulance response.
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic
A total of 130 hours provides the foundation for pre-hospital care with an emphasis on rapid assessment and management of the ill or injured person. The course includes classroom instruction along with hospital and field internship hours.
- Refresher classes for all EMS levels
- First Responder Refresher is 15 total hours
- EMT- Basic Refresher is 30 total hours
- EMT- Paramedic Refresher is 48 total hours
- CEUs- EMS continuing education can be provided for your department
CPR, ACLS, and PALS
Instructors accredited by the State of Ohio present a solid educational base that enables each individual to be not only competent but also confident in providing the best patient care. In addition, these same instructors provide ongoing education designed to keep the individual EMS provider current.
