Electronic Medical Records
HIMSS Analytics announced that Upper Valley Medical Center has achieved Stage 6 on the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM). More than six years ago, the hospital began the planning and implementation process to bring a leading edge medical record system to the community. This transformational change in technology is of direct benefit to patients by providing more seamless and ready access to patient information for medical professionals.
Premier Health Expands Epic System to Physician Offices
Premier Health (Premier) is expanding its Epic-Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to physician offices. Premier created “Patient Information Partners” or “PIP” to help physicians adopt Epic as their office EMR. PIP uses Premier IT, training, marketing, and other resources to provide a complete Office EMR product.
The first office was installed in January of 2008. PIP now has more than 50 offices including 150 physicians and more than 700 office staff using Epic as their office EMR with plans to add 600 more physicians in the next three years. The offices enjoy the same collaborative chart as the hospitals, e-prescribing, scanning, billing and a practice management system designed specifically for the physician office. The PIP staff works with each office directly to ensure a successful adoption of the Epic system.
