UVMC Report to the Community UVMC and Premier Health Partners Finalize Affiliation
Premier Health Partners and Upper Valley Medical Center have finalized a joint operating agreement proposed in November. The approval by both organizations came at the conclusion of a due diligence process.
Upper Valley is the fourth hospital affiliated with Premier. Others include Miami Valley Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton and Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.
Under the joint operating agreement, Upper Valley will continue to be owned by its legal parent company, UVMC, and the UVMC Board of Directors will continue in its role to oversee the hospital.
UVMC Board members Peter E. Nims, M.D., and Douglas R. Murray, along with UVMC CEO David J. Meckstroth, have been appointed to the Premier Health Partners Board of Trustees, comprised of representatives from each of the affiliate organizations. The Premier board maintains ultimate operating authority, which includes approval rights of all member organizations’ annual budgets and any major building or service expansion projects.
