UVMC Renews Membership
The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (OAFP/F) announces Upper Valley Medical Center has renewed its corporate membership for 2008.
Working toward a shared goal of improving and increasing access to quality health care for all Ohioans, support from Upper Valley Medical Center and other corporate partners enhances OAFP/F's capacity to offer programs that not only encourage medical students to choose a career in family medicine, but provide immediate benefits to Ohio's medical students, their future patients and the communities they serve -- creating a healthier Ohio for all citizens today and for years to come.
This is the eighth year of support from Upper Valley Medical Center, a not-for-profit health care system serving the health care needs of Miami County and the surrounding area. The health care system features a state of the art acute care hospital which opened in June 1998. Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services are provided with a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services and behavioral health care programs.
The mission of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Foundation, as the philanthropic arm of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, is to improve and increase access to quality health care for all Ohioans by generating student interest in the family medicine specialty.
The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians is a statewide professional association of more than 4,400 members, including practicing physicians, family medicine residents and medical students. The scope of family medicine encompasses all ages, both sexes and every disease entity. Family physicians provide comprehensive, continuing care to all members of the family.
