Volunteer At the Gift Shop

Upper Valley Medical Center’s gift shop is located in the lobby of the main hospital. The proceeds go to hospital funding, and the shop is staffed by volunteers. The gift shop strives to be a convenient service for hospital staff, patients, and families.

The gift shop conducts special sales and events around seasonal themes such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Halloween, college football season, and Christmas. Special items are stocked for sale around these days and seasons.

The gift shop has an annual open house every year to begin the holiday shopping season. This is a special time when the shop is decorated and stocked with items for the Christmas holiday season.

The gift shop does not advertise outside of the hospital.  Reminders of events and sales are sent to hospital staff and departments.

Fundraising

Volunteers are a large part of the UVMC fundraising effort. They raise $100,000 annually through the gift shop, the Lifeline program, personal donations, and fundraising projects. These projects include bi-annual book sales and periodic uniform sales.

Since 1998, the UVMC Auxiliary has provided over $2 million in funding for equipment and special projects for the hospital. The Auxiliary is especially proud of their annual scholarship program for those pursuing a health-care-oriented degree. Twelve to 14 scholarships of $2,000 are awarded each year.
