Meals at Upper Valley Medical Center
Nutrition is an important part of your treatment at Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC). UVMC meal services are based on your medical and dietary needs, plus your personal preferences. Registered Dietitians will develop your nutrition plan, and our Nutrition Services staff will work with you to ensure your needs and preferences are met.
Meals
Wholesome, nourishing, and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. The UVMC Nutrition Services staff plans meals you’ll enjoy that are nutritious and prepared according to your doctor’s orders.
Meal Times
Most meals are served during the following times:
- Breakfast: 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Meals may be delayed or changed to accommodate any tests or medical procedures.
Menu Options
Each morning you will receive a menu to choose your meals for the following day. If you do not select your meal, your food will be planned for you. The meals you receive are based on your diet requirements and medical needs. Liquid diets are non-selective, however, if you have preferences, please let Nutrition Services staff know.
Dietary Restrictions
Your menu will be monitored so that it is compliant with the diet your doctor has ordered for you.
Guest Trays
Patients may have a guest tray served to a visitor. There is an additional $5 charge for this service. Please place your guest tray request through a Nutrition Service associate or nurse.
Nutrition Services
Your nutrition care and meal service will be provided by:
- Registered dietitians who will evaluate and plan for your nutritional needs, and provide any needed diet counseling
- Nutrition Service associates who help with your meal service
