Explosive Speed and Power (ESP) and ESP Jr. Sports Enhancement Programs
UVMC Center for Sports Medicine offers the Explosive Speed and Power (ESP) and ESP Jr. programs. ESP is a six week enhancement program that is offered in the summer for high school, college and professional-level athletes from the area. The ESP Jr. program for seventh and eighth graders is also available for younger athletes.
The ESP and ESP Jr. programs both feature ground-based speed drills, plyometrics, and flexibility exercises to improve athletes’ speed, agility, vertical jump, and flexibility. The ESP program uses Olympic lifts, while the ESP Jr. program utilizes free weights, medicine balls, and machines to improve power and strength. Education on proper form, proper technique, and injury prevention is emphasized to promote safe and effective performance enhancement.
The ESP programs are an excellent fit for most athletes. For more information, please call UVMC Center for Sports Medicine at (937) 667-2614.
