UVMC Volunteers Honored
During the year 2008, UVMC’s volunteers completed 32,714 hours of service. Contributing to this achievement were the 88 volunteers honored on April 23 during the UVMC Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Each had achieved a new milestone in his/her cumulative hours of service. This included Olive Beanblossom for 18,500 hours; Catherine Bohm, 16,500; Juanita Petry, 13,500; Margaret Attenweiler, 11,500; Mary Lou Fannin, 10,500; Jean Burner and Betty Gerken, 10,000; Joyce Carpenter, 8,000; Marion King, 7,500; Doris Perry an Eleanor Sweigart, 7,000; Dorothy Fox, 6,000; and Helen Curry and Norman Warner, 5,500 hours.
Also earning recognition were Kenneth Schwartz and Georgiana Weaver, for 4,500 hours; Dee Collins, James Hunt, Kathryn Mote, and Jean Thornton, 4,000; George Anderson, Luther Baden, Lew Brock, Jacqueline Jenkins, Pat Jordan, Libby McCabe, and Arlene Van Malsen, 3,500; Ralph Gray, Ann Sanders, and Becky Voisinet, 3,000 hours; and Gwen Karr, Wavalene Kessler, Wade Leech, Kathleen Putnam, Mid Stone, and Laura Knoop, 2,500 hours.
Five volunteers were recognized for completion of 2,000 hours of service to UVMC; five for 1,500 hours; eight for 1,000; six for 500; 12 for 300; and 10 for 100 hours.
For their volunteer services, Kristen Avery, Matt Blair, Sarah Brooks, Erik Hunt, Laura Knoop, Megan Nichol and Melissa Schultz were awarded a Community Service Certificate.
