UVMC Spring Nursing Forum Celebrated
UVMC’s 2009 Spring Nursing Forum, the annual recognition of excellence in practice, was held April 28 at Upper Valley Medical Center. Preceding the celebration of National Nurses Week, the nursing forum embraced the theme, “Building a Healthy America.”
Beth Perkins was named UVMC’s 2009 Cameos of Caring nominee at the event. Stephanie Kaiser received the Nurse in a Leadership Role award; Kelly Chaney received the New Hire of the Year award; and Tori Hite was recognized as the Preceptor of the Year. Additionally, Registered Nurses who were recipients of Nursing Excellence Awards included Tara Adkins, Nancy Brumbaugh, Kathy Colbert, Katie Daily, Julie Epperson, Louise Forror, Amber Furrow, Andi Garrett, Missy Hicks, Bev Johnston, Meisha Kreinbrink, Deb Meyer, Cathy Mullenix, Ruth Oldiges, Judy Overholser, Beth Perkins, Kim Powell, Barb Shappie, Sara Snider, Betsy Snyder, Kathy Tobe, and Cassie Yount.
Awards also were presented to Patient Care Technicians Wilma Daniel, Teresa Everhart, Jessica Grigsby, Tina Leckey and Lee Phlipot; to Care Team Associates Jeannie Hurst and LeaAnn Stevens; and to Debi Macy as supporter of nursing activities/practice. Recipients of the Physician Recognition Award were Dr. Daniel Dilworth, Dr. Ebaa Rajab, and Dr. Jyothsna Yalavarthi.
