November 2009 Employee of the Month
Amy Pleiman, a physical therapist who co-workers say goes out of her way to meet individual needs of her patients, is the Employee of the Month for November.
Amy joined UVMC in August 2001, filling a split position between the Outpatient Care Centers north and south. She now works at Outpatient Care Center South.
She said she enjoys working with patients and helping them return to their normal activities. Among her duties are evaluating and treating a variety of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatric; treating work- related injuries, sports injuries, post surgical patients and balance disorders; and developing land and aquatic treatment programs.
“Amy is very dedicated to her work and the patients she treats,” the person who nominated her wrote. “She always ensures that every patient gets the highest quality care and she goes out of her way to meet the individual needs of each patient.”
Amy also was called a role model within the department, from her documentation to her skills as a clinician.
When not at work, Amy enjoys traveling, following the OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds, exercising and spending time with family and friends.
