December 2009 Employee of the Month

Susan Brugger, a phlebotomist/specimen processor at the Stanfield Road Lab in Troy, has been named the Employee of the Month for December 2009.

Susan joined the UVMC family in September 2000.  She first worked in the Upper Valley Medical Center hospital lab processing department for about one year prior to moving to the Stanfield Road Lab.  She is responsible for registering patients and obtaining specimen collections for lab processing and analyzing departments at the hospital.
 
The person who nominated Susan for the recognition said that, although she is totally uncomfortable in a hospital setting, doctor’s office or medical lab, Susan has made the trip to the lab very “simple” for her.  “She is friendly, professional and talented,” the nominating individual said.

Susan commented that her favorite part of the job is the interaction with her patients.  “In the years I’ve worked at Stanfield, I’ve established not only a professional relationship but a personal one as well. I love my patients,” she said.

When not at work, Susan likes photography, gardening and enjoying time with friends and family.
