January 2010 Employee of the Month
Missi Archer’s patience and willingness to lend a helping hand are among attributes applauded by her coworkers in the UVPC billing office.
As a result, Missi has been selected as the January 2010 Employee of the Month.
She began her UVMC employment as a receptionist at Hyatt Family Care in August 1999 then transferred to the billing department in June 2005.
Among her job duties are calling insurance companies, collecting payments for patients, explaining bills to patients and setting up payment plans.
“She is always there to lend an extra hand when she knows a co-worker is struggling to keep caught up. She is very pleasant and cooperative working with patients over the phone, even when a patient may be rude with her,” co-workers said in nominating Missi for Employee of the Month.
“Every day is a joy to work with Missi. She never makes for a dull day and brightens up your work day. You can always count on Missi,” they said.
Missi said she enjoys her work and coworkers saying they make a “great” team.
“I enjoy being able to help people with their questions on the bill as well as being able to make them feel as though they do have options in making payments on these bills,” Missi said. “I take pride on treating people as I would want to be treated or have someone in my family treated if they had called in.”
When not at work, Missi said she enjoys camping at Ft. Loramie Lake with her boyfriend, taking his daughter shopping and playing Wii with her, playing with her dog and visiting her father in Tennessee.
