February 2010 Employee of the Month
Co-workers say Angie Strong’s clinical skills combined with her personality make her an excellent physical therapist. Those attributes also contributed to her selection as Employee of the Month for February.
Angie has a long association with UVMC, volunteering in the physical therapy departments in high school and college. Following college, she has worked for UVMC for 10 years, now at the Outpatient Care Center North. Furthering her education, she received a manual therapy certification in 2005 and a doctorate degree in physical therapy in 2007 from the University of St. Augustine.
Angie evaluates and treats patients with a variety of diagnoses ranging from neck/back pain to ankle injuries. She specializes in women’s health and teaches the pre/post natal exercise class.
“She goes the extra mile to make sure her patients are satisfied with their care. Angie treats all of her patients respectfully and makes them feel welcome,” a co- worker said. “She is definitely a team player and shares her knowledge and skills openly.”
Angie said she enjoys seeing patients as they make progress during treatment. “I appreciate that UVMC allows me to focus on quality of care. I love my co-workers, which makes you look forward to going to work,” she said.
When not at work, Angie said she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, hanging out with friends and playing volleyball.
