March 2010 Employee of the Month

Janet Mullins’ positive attitude and skills as a survey data analyst are among attributes cited by those who work with her in administration support services. As a result, Janet has been selected as the March 2010 Employee of the Month.

Janet joined the UVMC family in 1978, working as a coder in the Stouder hospital medical records department. She was quality assurance manager from 1981 to 1996. Today, she coordinates and maintains patient satisfaction surveys/data.  She serves as liaison with the survey vendor; provides managers with data and support in interpreting the data and reports; and most recently provides patient satisfaction scorecards for managers to help measure patient satisfaction progress.

“Janet takes great pride in her work. Her contributions to the HCAHPS committee have been outstanding,” those who nominated Janet said. “She is respected for her skills and managers and others seek her skills and her opinions for their research…  Janet is always eager to help and always timely, caring and respectful.”

Janet said she likes interacting with various departments and staff and knowing information, education or support provided was helpful and useful. “I have grown and learned so much here during my 31 years and am very grateful and thankful for the opportunity,” Janet said. “Everyone I have come in contact with or worked with throughout the years has been a positive influence on me. I am proud to be a part of UVMC with so many wonderful, kind and caring people.”  When not at work, Janet enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, daughter and son-in-law and their two young children; walking the dog, Katy; fishing and boating at Lake Erie; and camping.
