April 2010 Employee of the Month
Margie Meyer described by a co-worker as a “hidden hero,” is the April 2010 Employee of the Month.
Margie is administrative secretary in the Performance Improvement/Utilization Management office. She joined UVMC in April 1983, working first as a medical records transcriptionist before taking administrative secretary positions at Piqua Memorial and Dettmer. She joined PI/UM in 1999. She provides secretarial support to numerous hospital committees.
Margie “always goes above and beyond in the work she performs,” one person who nominated Margie said.
Another said, “If you have ever had the pleasure to attend one of the many meetings she is responsible to support or have entered the PI/UM department, you feel the professionalism she portrays and the attention to detail.” Margie holds an associate’s degree from Edison Community College.
“I work with a fantastic group of talented people, many of whom I have known for years and count as my friends and second family,” she said. “My job duties are always changing, presenting new challenges which makes my work interesting. I can say with certainty that no two days are ever the same.”
Margie likes to read and try new recipes. She enjoys spending time with family and attending events involving her children’s activities. She and husband, Steve, have three children, Joe, Katie and Allison.
