June 2010 Employee of the Month

Bonnie Cody, a laundry aide for Joint Hospital Services laundry, is known for taking that extra step while displaying a cooperative spirit.

For her efforts, Bonnie is being recognized as the June 2010 Employee of the Month.

Bonnie said she runs “the tunnel,” a computerized eight-chamber continuous batch washer, which transfers linen into a press where the water is squeezed out and then into one of four dryers. She oversees the linen as it moves from the machine to the dryer, the folding machine or into a cart for hand-folding. Among her other tasks is pulling the UVMC scrub order for each day.

“I do whatever it takes to get the job done and help my coworkers,” Bonnie said. She said the best part of the job is the people around her.

“She does whatever is asked of her with a willing and cooperative spirit,” the person who nominated Bonnie said. “She is very budget-conscious and strives to get the work done in a timely fashion, yet she is thorough and puts out top quality work.”

When she’s not at work, Bonnie said she enjoys playing Bingo and doing yard work. She said she also “loves” flowers.
