Upper Valley Medical Center also provides quality minimally invasive procedures and offers lithotripsy (a procedure that uses shock waves) for kidney stone management patients twice a month.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Through advanced surgical techniques and equipment, more surgeries are being performed with minimally invasive methods. These procedures are performed through tiny incisions instead of one large opening. During a minimally invasive procedure, your surgeon makes several small incisions in the skin. A long, thin tube with a miniature camera attached at the end (called an endoscope) is passed through one of the incisions. Tubes attached to small instruments are passed through the other openings.

Hours of Operation:
The UVMC Surgery Department hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. An on-call team is available after hours and on weekends.
