August 2010 Employee of the Month
Terri Waddell is described as one of those people who help keep the organization running smoothly and, does it with a Caring Plus attitude. For her efforts, she has been named the August 2010 Employee of the Month.
Terri provides administrative support for Medical Staff Development and UVPC Administration and does insurance credentialing for UVPC physicians.
Terri’s UVMC career began in Caring Plus under then-director Becky Rice. She began working in CQI before transferring to corporate administration as administrative assistant for finance in 1999. She has held her current position since April 2009.
A person who nominated Terri described her “graciously offering” to set up the administrative board room for a last-minute meeting. The offer was not out of character for Terri, who was complimented for her cooperation, team work and focus on the end result.
“Terri has helped me on numerous occasions; always with a true Caring Plus attitude,” the nominator wrote.
Terri said she has been fortunate to have “an overall perspective of the organization (such as service lines, various UVMC facilities, and so forth). It’s really amazing how it all comes together.”
The best part of her job is the people. “We have a lot of dedicated staff who really enjoy what they do. Sure, every now and then things get a little hectic, but we are all here for the same reason – to provide the best service possible to our patients, medical staff and the community,” she said. “I have also had some wonderful role models and coworkers over the years.”
When not at work, Terri likes to be outdoors, gardening, riding bikes, hiking and spending time with family.
