The Daisy Award

Upper Valley Medical Center is pleased to recognize our nurses with The Daisy Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical expertise our nurses bring to patients every day. Presented by the UVMC Professional Development Council, the Daisy Award at UVMC is funded in part through donations from United HealthCare.

Patients, family members, physicians and fellow staff are invited to nominate a nurse for The Daisy Award. Nomination forms are provided in public areas throughout UVMC facilities.  You can also download the nomination form which you may submit online or return to any UVMC nursing station or information desk.

The Daisy Award was established by the Daisy Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease.  The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere. Learn more Off Site Icon about the Daisy Award program.
