October 2011 Employee of the Month

Tim Rice’s “big smile and a hello” along with an emphasis on customer satisfaction helped him win recognition as the Employee of the Month for October.

Tim, a multi-craft mechanic for Plant Operations, has been with UVMC since March 2004.  Among his duties on the second shift are addressing work orders; monitoring boilers, chillers and air handlers; maintaining vehicles; removing snow and salting; and assisting security with Mr. Man calls and CareFlight.

“He responds to multiple requests in a friendly and Caring Plus fashion. When approached, he greets everyone with a big smile and a hello,” said one person who nominated him.

“Tim makes sure every customer is satisfied before he leaves his post. He displays a positive can-do attitude and does not complain on the job,” a nominator wrote.

Tim said he enjoys “working with and meeting a lot of very nice people and learning something new on almost a daily basis.”

When not at work, Tim enjoys cooking out with friends and family, watching OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals football, NASCAR and gardening.

He has been married 27 years to wife, Pam, and has four children.
