December 2012 Employee of the Month

Amber Bockrath’s coworkers say she treats all patients like family.

The December Employee of the Month is a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on the Inpatient Rehabilitation unit.

“Amber is always smiling and caring. She holds patients hands when they have a hard day and provides great emotional support,” a co-worker wrote.  “She treats everyone the way we should expect to be treated … Many of our patients come back just to show her how well they are doing.”

Amber, who joined the UVMC family in April 2011 as a PCT, said she likes being a part of the Rehab unit and helping patients get back to their home and families. “I also enjoy the great staff I get to work with,” she said. 

When not at work, Amber said she enjoys spending time with her family.
