January 2013 Employee of the Month

Darla Lee’s computer knowledge, willingness to help and positive outlook were among attributes cited in her selection as Employee of the Month.

Darla is an IT field support specialist II in the MIS Department. She joined the UVMC family in January 2005 on the MIS Help Desk and has held her current position since April 2008. 

Darla is a member of the Employee Action Committee and UVMC’s representative for Future Leaders. Multiple nominations were received for Darla. “Darla is very knowledgeable about her job and always willing to help and show how to do tasks on the computer,” an employee said. “She is patient when you don’t seem to get it the first time … Always has a smile for you, even when you know she is having a bad day.”

Darla said she enjoys interacting with fellow employees. “Building a repertoire with the users and assisting them with their day to day issues really makes what I do here at UVMC rewarding.  I am a very small part of a bigger team,” she said. “The IT Department is a great group of individuals that work together for the best interest of each and every employee of PHP. I am very proud to be a part of PHP’s IT Department.” When not at work, Darla enjoys spending time with family including children Darien and Daria; serving as school liaison for a Piqua diversity group; and engaging in genealogy research.
