Orthopedics at Upper Valley Medical Center

Getting you back to the life you love is the goal of Upper Valley Medical Center’s orthopedics team. Whether you’re an all-star athlete, a busy parent or grandparent, a hard-working employee or an active retiree, we can help to identify the reason for your bone and joint pain and recommend the most appropriate treatment for you, from physical therapy to minimally invasive surgery to joint replacement surgery and rehabilitation.

Specialized Joint Care

Upper Valley’s orthopedic surgeons specialize in helping your bones and joints function to their best ability by treating acute injuries, chronic instability, overuse syndromes, arthritis, fractures and more in the shoulder, elbow, arm, wrist, hand, hip, knee, leg, ankle and foot.

Surgery

We thoroughly explore all non-surgical treatment options to reduce or eliminate your pain before recommending surgery. If you should require surgery, our board certified physicians perform a wide range of procedures, including fracture care, joint replacements and minimally invasive surgery (arthroscopy repair). The type of surgery and materials used will vary depending on your medical situation, lifestyle, age and other factors.

Rehabilitation Services

To start you on the road to recovery, rehabilitation services generally begin within a day of surgery. For those patients who qualify for inpatient rehabilitation, the UVMC Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit offers personalized, intensive therapies to help you regain strength, range of motion and the ability to return to normal activities.

Outpatient rehabilitation services are also available at UVMC Center for Sports Medicine. The center offers outpatient physical therapy evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal/orthopedic problems, emphasizing injury care and conditioning for competitive and recreational athletes.

Education and Support

At UVMC we provide community education to help you make the best healthcare decisions for you and your family. At our upcoming Joint Pain Seminars - join the experts at The Premier Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Institute as we discuss surgical and non-surgical treatment options to help restore mobility and reduce pain caused by arthritis and other conditions.
